Our rules
1. Each member pays the contribution in full on the collection day to the ekub dagna (organiser), who records it in the payment record.
2. The order of receiving the pot is decided by lottery at the first meeting (or as agreed below) and written in the member register.
3. The member whose turn it is receives the whole pot on the collection day, less the agreed fee, if any, and signs for it.
4. A member who has already received the pot keeps paying every round until the last one. A guarantor (wass) signs for each member.
5. Late payment: the member pays within [DAYS] days; after that the guarantor pays and recovers it from the member.
6. A member who wants to leave must find a replacement accepted by the group, or wait until the end of the cycle.
7. Disputes are first discussed at the members' meeting; this record and the signatures are the evidence of what was paid.

An ekub is a traditional savings group; these are the members' own rules, not a legal form. Ethiopian dates are calculated (Amete Mihret). No interest is paid: an early turn is an interest-free loan, a late turn is a saving.
