Our Christmas rules
A limit per person, agreed before we hit the shops.
Santa first, then everyone else.
Kris Kindle at work and in the family: one name, one limit.
Order online early and check each shop's last delivery date before Christmas.
Keep the receipts for swaps after St Stephen's Day.
Anything left over goes into the savings jar in January.
All amounts are the family's own: the examples are not average prices. Weekly amounts run from today to the week before Christmas Eve, rounded up to the euro; the last one evens out.
