Rules and regulations
Rule 1 — Purpose — The [NJANGI NAME] is a rotating savings group. At each meeting every member pays the contribution and one member, in turn, takes the pot.
Rule 2 — Contribution — The contribution is [CONTRIBUTION] FCFA per member per meeting, paid in cash or by Mobile Money (Orange Money, MTN MoMo) to the treasurer no later than the opening of the meeting.
Rule 3 — Meetings — Meetings hold [FREQUENCY AND DAY], [VENUE]. The first meeting holds on [DATE OF FIRST MEETING]; a cycle has as many meetings as there are members.
Rule 4 — Order of turns — The order of beneficiaries is fixed at the first meeting (by ballot or by agreement) and written in the table of turns. Two members may swap turns with the executive's approval, recorded in the book.
Rule 5 — Common fund — Each member also pays [COMMON FUND] FCFA per meeting for refreshments, support in times of sorrow or joy and the cost of the book. The treasurer reports on it at every meeting.
Rule 6 — Late payment — Any contribution paid after the meeting opens carries a fine of [FINE] FCFA, paid into the common fund.
Rule 7 — Guarantee — A member who takes the pot before the end of the cycle must keep contributing until the last meeting. The executive may ask for a guarantor who is a member.
Rule 8 — Executive and book — The executive is made up of a president, a treasurer and a secretary. The njangi book is kept at every meeting: attendance, contributions, late payments, beneficiary; the beneficiary signs on receiving the pot.
Rule 9 — Leaving and exclusion — A member may leave before the end of the cycle only after settling all commitments. Two unpaid defaults lead to exclusion decided by the general meeting.
Rule 10 — Disputes — Disputes are settled amicably in the general meeting. Every member receives a copy of these rules and of the table of turns.
